TYPE OF PROJECT

Wind, Project Development, Transmission and Distribution and EPC

Scope of work

Land procurement, construction of road, WTG foundation, electrical lines and substation construction

Key challenges
  • The terrain was a mixture of forest and government land with hard rock strata and it was our first installation of 2.1 MW, 97m rotor in such a complex terrain.
Our approach
  • While transporting the large blades and other WTG components from highways to the site many remote villages were bypassed and a lot of modifications had to be made.
  • Roads were constructed within the site under stringent forest guidelines for transportation and erection of WTGs.
  • We had to construct 1 sub-station to evacuate 120 MW power and lay 13 Km of 220 kV EHV line.
  • Despite it being a highly sensitive social environment, we maintained a good relationship with the local people.
  • We overcame these challenges through proper planning, a dedicated execution team and partnering with right vendors
Impact

Our projects aided in improving the quality of life of people in the vicinity:

  • The infrastructure was improved by creating roads and pathways
  • We created livelihood opportunities for the people through direct and indirect employment like jobs for security guards, operations and maintenance, temporary turbine cleaning, etc.
