Key challenges
- There was no policy to allocate forest land for wind farm development
- 18-24 months long lead time for forest land acquisition
- Lack of basic infrastructure
- First project executed entirely in forest land
Our approach
We constructed 3 sub stations to evacuate more than 150 MW power and laid 42 Km of 66 kV EHV line. The infrastructure was providedimmediately after the forest policy was declared.
Impact
Our projects aided in improving the quality of life of people in the vicinity:
- The infrastructure was improved by creating roads and pathways
- We created livelihood opportunities for the people through direct and indirect employment like jobs for security guards, operations and maintenance, temporary turbine cleaning, etc.
