Scope of work
Transportation of ODC with dimension of (length – 56.4mtr * Width – 5.1 * Height – 4.0mtr) from Tuticorin (TN) to Kuderu (AP) , total distance of 1025kms
Key Challenges
- The length of the cargo and minimum overhang of the mould cargo
- Type of trailer to be used for the cargo
- Overhead restrictions on the road (flyover height restricted to 18mtr)
- Passing through the densely populated city of Bangalore
- Sharp turning radius of ~7mtrs while crossing Chalekere, towards Bellary town
- Removal of hoardings at Bellary Bypass
Our approach
Customization of Vehicle Design, by using bolster system on 4- line axle bed. The telescopic trailer was fitted on the bolster to get desired length of trailer bed and avoid any disproportionate overhang
Optimizing on low turning radius, we arranged for proper gradient across divider stretch by using sand bags to cross the road dividers at night without disturbing the normal traffic flow
City traffic management – The Bangalore city was navigated on a single lane at night from Hosur to Neelmangla with proper permission without disturbing city traffic
Sustainability focus
We used Bharat Stage IV prime movers which had ensured a low carbon emission rate for the project
