Our story

India is a country on a progressive growth curve and is an attractive destination for investments for setting up operations. However, multiplicity of controls and clearances, absence of world class infrastructure, unstable fiscal regime and differences in implementation of laws did not encourage many investors, especially foreign investments to make India their destination of choice.

With a view to overcome the shortcomings experienced by investors and to attract larger foreign investments in India, the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) Policy was announced in April 2000. This policy intended to make SEZs an engine for economic growth supported by quality infrastructure complemented by an attractive fiscal package, both at the Centre and the State level, with the minimum possible regulations and thereby a comprehensive draft SEZ Bill was prepared after extensive discussions with the stakeholders.

After extensive consultations, the SEZ Act, 2005, supported by SEZ Rules, came into effect on 10th February, 2006, providing for drastic simplification of procedures and for single window clearance on matters relating to central as well as state governments.

Aspen developed the SEZ to offer plug and play infrastructures facility for  all who wanted to fast track their growth plans and begin immediate operations in India. It offered to become a dependable and sustainable partner who would facilitate smooth operations regarding all required permissions and clearances and the investing companies can focus only on their growth plans. Sustainability has been our core focus at Skeiron Group and we believe in inclusive growth for the people and the communities around us.

Building on Sustainability is our motto.

Why SEZs

SEZs are a specifically delineated duty-free enclave and shall be deemed to be oreign territory for the purposes of trade operations, duties and tariffs. In other words, SEZ is a geographical region that has economic laws different from a country’s typical economic laws.

The prime objective of SEZs is to enhance foreign investment and provide an internationally competitive hassle-free environment for exports. The idea is to promote exports from the country and realizing the need that level playing field must be made available to the domestic enterprises and manufacturers to become competitive globally. Business units that set up establishments in an SEZ would be entitled for a package of incentives and a simplified operating environment. Besides, no license is required for imports, including second hand machineries with an additional provision of Inter-unit sales within SEZs; to some extent
